Businesses need sustainable, integrated transport networks to thrive. Our employees need a variety of convenient, safe and stress-free ways to get to work.
North Bristol SusCom formed in 2012 in order to positively contribute to solutions to the transport issues in our area and help drive the changes we want to see for our businesses and employees. We are an independent, business-led network.

Strategic influence and collaboration |
We work closely with key regional and national partners to drive investment in the West of England’s transport infrastructure, services and policies. We feed into strategic planning groups and major consultations to help decision makers understand the needs of business and commuters and to ultimately reduce congestion.

Workplace travel |
We also lead by example, by managing our traffic impact within our own organisations and supporting our 40,000+ staff and 30,000 students to reduce the number of short car journeys they make. We take a coordinated approach, running collective campaigns and pilot schemes as well as sharing experience and best practice.
We encourage walking, cycling, bus and rail as preferred ways to travel to work and around the area on business, as well as home working. If journeys need to be undertaken by car we promote electric vehicles and car sharing. Our workplace travel activities include:
