North Bristol SusCom support – we are offering all member organisations tailored advice support during Covid-19 to help our employers support safe and sustainable staff travel as workplaces begin to reopen. Dr Bike checks – the West of England councils are offering free bike maintenance checks on-site at workplaces. The mechanics can provide socially-distanced half day (4 hour) sessions providing a minimum of 8 appointments. Travelwest business grants – 50% grants towards workplace improvements to facilities or schemes that encourage sustainable travel for staff such as electric loan bikes for staff, installing cycle parking, new changing and shower facilities. Car Share advice during Covid-19 – Liftshare have compiled advice for businesses and workplaces on supporting staff car sharing during social distancing based on government and industry guidelines. https://business.liftshare.com/workplace-guidelines/. South Gloucestershire Council have also produced a poster outlining the latest advice on car sharing.
Active Travel Champions – South Gloucestershire Council’s Active Travel Champions scheme provides support to individuals encouraging cycling and walking within their organisation. The scheme provides a range of champion and workplace benefits including free cycle repair kits, promotional materials, bike maintenance sessions and more. Travel advice and support for staff – whilst Travelwest Roadshows on-site at workplaces are not possible Travelwest are providing a virtual travel advice service for staff through video, phone or email.
